2020 Tacoma City Turkey Trot is CANCELED. TCMA Turkey Trot will return in 2021, things will be a little different, but our passion for producing quality running events in Tacoma will not be compromised. Hang in there Tacoma, be safe and we'll see you next year.


Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I pick up someone else's race packet? Yes, as long as you have permission from them to do so. Written permission is not required.

I registered, but have learned that I will be unable to participate.  Is my entry fee refundable? Our policy is no refunds, no transfers to another individual or to another TCMA event, and no rollovers to the next year's race. Sorry, no exceptions.

Is there an age limit for the race? There is no age limit for the 5k race as long as your child is able to complete the distance on their own or in a stroller. For the 1K Kids Run we recommend the race for kids 12 and under. Grown-ups can run with their children and do not need to register for the 1K.

What is in my race packet? Your packet will contain a bib number with timing chip and goody bag with promotional offers and coupons from event sponsors and vendors. This bag can also be used as your gear check bag on race day.

What time does the race start? 9:00 AM

Where is the start line located? Both the start and finish will be at the Fleet Feet Sports store in Tacoma (Proctor District).

Is there gear check at the start? Yes, gear check is provided as a place to store your personal items while you race. Please tear your gear check tab off of your bib and attach to your gear check bag (using the zip tie provided in your gear check bag). Your gear check bag will be given to you at packet pick up. Please do not put valuables in your bag. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. You may claim your bag after you finish by providing your bib number.

Will there be a professional photographer at the event? Yes. Race photography will be provided by CJ Photography.  Photos are free to all race participants to download. 

Where do I find my race results? Results will be available at the results computers following the race. Results will also be available online no later than 5 PM on race day. Check HERE for your results.

Is the race chip timed? Yes. Chip start, chip finish. Timing chips are to be attached to your bib number and do not need to be returned. 

Is the course certified? Yes, the course is USATF certified, # WA14034MN.

How many miles is a 5K? A 5K is 3.1 miles. There will be mile markers at each mile point.

Can I walk the race? Yes

Are strollers allowed? Yes

Are dogs allowed? Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs in this race. Sorry - this is per USATF regulations. We cannot make exceptions as this affects our liability insurance.

Where can I park? Free street parking is available around the Proctor area. There is no parking on N. 26th St. between Proctor St. and N. Adams.

Are there porta-potties at the start? Yes, and plenty of them.

Can I wear headphones during the race? Yes, be safe and don't turn them up so loud that you can't hear volunteers or police. We recommend leaving one earbud out. Be safe out there.
